Os organizadores da Oscip reuniram hist\u00f3rias de atendimentos que salvaram vidas realizados por v\u00e1rios de seus 17 mil volunt\u00e1rios e escolheu 22 delas para uma premia\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>Num primeiro momento pode soar estranho dentistas salvarem vidas. Mas esses profissionais de sa\u00fade atuam de maneira muito mais ampla do que se imagina. &#8220;O dentista salva vidas quando trata uma infec\u00e7\u00e3o s\u00e9ria na boca do paciente, por exemplo. Ou quando a pessoa volta a comer, a trabalhar, a beijar &#8211; ele est\u00e1 salvando uma outra forma de viver&#8221;, diz o dentista F\u00e1bio Bibancos, presidente volunt\u00e1rio da Turma do Bem. &#8220;Durante a pandemia, os Dentistas do Bem (volunt\u00e1rios da organiza\u00e7\u00e3o) salvaram vidas por conta da distribui\u00e7\u00e3o de alimentos, principalmente para a nossa rede, composta de crian\u00e7as e jovens carentes e mulheres v\u00edtimas de viol\u00eancia que muitas vezes est\u00e3o com a fam\u00edlia desestruturada&#8221;, completa ele.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e3o bastasse, dentistas salvam vidas quando trabalham lado a lado de m\u00e9dicos em hospitais para ajudar na assist\u00eancia a pacientes internados. &#8220;Em 2019, o governo Bolsonaro vetou o projeto que garantia essa assist\u00eancia. Ent\u00e3o veio a pandemia e muitos foram a \u00f3bito porque n\u00e3o houve correta higieniza\u00e7\u00e3o oral durante a intuba\u00e7\u00e3o. N\u00f3s perdemos essa batalha. Ter\u00edamos salvado muitas vidas se estiv\u00e9ssemos nas UTIs do Brasil afora&#8221;, afirma Bibancos. &#8220;Essa premia\u00e7\u00e3o ser\u00e1 uma esp\u00e9cie de manifesto em favor do trabalho do dentista&#8221;, diz.
